MauiMastermind
Over the past 25 years of business coaching, I have had the opportunity to coach thousands of business owners from all walks of life, with great success. Recently, I have noticed an influx in CEO moms looking to scale their businesses and I couldn’t be more thrilled with this turn of events. As I have mentioned in the past, I think that women business owners have some very important advantages when it comes to leading a team, but add on the title of Mom and you get a force that is to be reckoned with.

CEO moms not only have the ability to run wildly successful businesses but they often possess the ability to do it in such a way as to maintain a healthy work-life balance. And that makes a really powerful combo. One of the things I love about taking on a new CEO mom client is that they come in with a drive and passion that I don’t often see in other business owners. Which means that they are often light years ahead of their competition, before ever contacting me for guidance.
Here are the top three things that I like to work on when onboarding a CEO mom into our business coaching program.
CEO moms are skilled at time mastery and are always looking for ways to streamline their work flow and get the most out of their time in the office. This is at the heart of our coaching system but becomes crucial when a business owner is looking for a true work-life balance. By going through your business systematically and creating UBS’s or Universal Business Systems, you are giving yourself the freedom to focus on the things that make the most impact on your businesses bottom line.
Imagine what your business life would be like if you didn’t have to worry about who was going to handle payroll or who was going to onboard the new employee… What would that freedom mean for your ability to grow your business? And would that freedom give you more time to spend with your family?
CEO moms are naturally driven to capitalizing on what they do best, unlike some other business owners, who try to do everything even if it’s not in their wheelhouse. When we onboard a new client we sit down and talk about where her strengths and weaknesses lie and how to best capitalize on that knowledge. This simple but powerful exercise allows us to pinpoint where the business owner should focus their time and attention, and where they should outsource and delegate to other team members.
CEO moms are natural leaders, and excel in staff management and mentorship. When onboarding, we will sit down with a new client and go over their company culture and discuss ways that they can work to strengthen their culture. This exercise will allow them to subtly guide the business to run successfully in their absence. Simple tricks like how to get your employees to show up for meetings on time or take ownership of projects can go a long way to helping business owners scale and grow.
